What happens at market rollover?

The trading day rolls over at 21:00 UTC. Your daily drawdown resets at that moment, and for about an hour around it spreads widen and liquidity thins, so stops can slip.

What rollover is

The hour when trading sessions hand over and liquidity temporarily drops. During it:

  • spreads can widen sharply;
  • liquidity may be reduced;
  • volatility can pick up without warning; and
  • stop losses and take profits can slip and fill away from your requested price.

Why it matters for your account

Two things happen at once at 21:00 UTC: your daily drawdown resets, and conditions are at their worst for slippage. A widened spread can push your equity below a breach level on a position that looked safe minutes earlier.

Consider closing positions before rollover, or leaving enough buffer in your stop loss to absorb spread expansion.

What the reset does

At 21:00 UTC, the daily reference is the higher of account balance and equity at that moment. The daily loss allowance is the programme percentage of the original starting balance. Subtract that allowance from the reset reference to find the daily loss floor. Earlier intraday highs do not replace this reset snapshot.

What the reset does not do

  • It does not lower a trailing maximum floor (Speedy and Instant Funding).
  • It does not move a static maximum floor (Flex and Pro).
  • It does not restore a breached account or remove closed losses.
  • It does not guarantee that the next day's room equals the full headline percentage.

Positions held into the new day stay subject to the maximum drawdown limit at all times.

What time is 21:00 UTC where I am?

Convert from 21:00 UTC to your local time. The UTC reset itself does not change for daylight saving, although your local time may. Your Trader Area and platform timestamps show the active cycle.
